Fly Tying Classes

Here at Chappy’s Guide^TM, fly tying is truly a passion.  Over the last 5 years, we have been able teach over 80 students over 10 classes.  We have continued to improve our techniques, the use of media, and most importantly the curriculum.   In fact, about 1 in 5 students repeat the class each semester.  This means that every course we are adding new material and patterns.

We are thankful to Laconia High School and Concord High School for their continued support and allowance to offer our classes through their Continuing Education Program.

As we move into the Fall 2008 classes, we are excited about the new patterns we have to teach.  It should be a lot of fun.

 Fly Tying Products

 Fly Tying for Kids

We have also started a new program aimed at teaching kids fly tying.  Our Free Fly Tying for Kids programs offers an opportunity to present this fine hobby to our youngsters.  We will outfit 4 tying stations along with materials free of charge.  We are looking for organizations and event sponsors with interest in this activity to supply the venue.   It will take each child about 15 minutes to complete their first fly.   We will cut the hook points off the fly if preferred.   The minimum age for this program is 6 yrs old.

 Fly Swaps

Participating and hosting in several fly tying swaps is fun and rewarding.  For the last two years we have hosted the Chili Pepper swap and currently are working on the 3rd annual swap.   If you are interested in joining or starting a swap, please let us know.
