Chappy's GuideTM has finished preparing our new class syllabus for the Fall 2008 classes.  We are excited and here is why you should be:

* If you have previously taken our fly tying course, we guarantee 60% brand new material and patterns.  We are continuously pushing the envelope and developing new material to teach.

*  We just received some of the best Elk hair we have ever seen in multiple shades.  Just perfect for tying Elk Hair Caddis, Stimulators, and Humpies.

* We have some beautiful Chinese Hackle necks along with Mirage Blended Flashabou to tie a multitude of colorful and shiny streamer flies.

* We will break out our full Woodduck and Silver Pheasant skins, so you can see how beautiful these birds are.   We will show you how to tie some great flies with various type of plumage including cheeks and top feather wings.

* In our efforts in tying full dress Atlantic Salmon flies, we have a lot of golden pheasant crests just waiting to be tied to the hook.

* And many more tricks, tips and techniques will await you.

Chappy's GuideTM has focused on developing high quality fly tying classes that allows both beginner and novice fly tiers to enjoy and learn together tying fish catching and elegant patterns.   Our methods focus on the latest techniques and the old standby methods to give you confidence at the vise.  There are so many techniques and niches in fly tying that everyone can learn and improve.  We focus on these points and develop a selection of traditional, concept and custom flies to hone your skills so your enjoyment in tying flies begins to peak.

Using an array of media methods we will tie 4 flies per night consisting of 2 different patterns.  Each course is a 6 week class with 8 weeks scheduled (1 week is a make up week just in case, and the other is a “free” style week).   The “FreeStyle” week is like Iron Fly Tier - we will show a secret ingredient and everyone ties whatever they like with this ingredient - hopefully using some of the techniques learned in the previous 6 weeks.

Each class is offered through the Continuing Education Program at the High School.  Chappy's GuideTM is the developer of the class curriculum, teaching tools, and supplier of the materials used.

In Laconia, NH, your instructor is Mike Cox.  We have been working with Mike for several years to hone his already strong fly tying skills into a very effective fly tying instructor.  Mike uses the latest in multimedia and has been very well received from his students.  This will be Mike’s 5th fly tying class as the Laconia Fly Tying Instructor.

In Concord, NH your instructor is Chris Chapman.    Although we have not had a fly tying class in Concord for the last three semesters due to personal issues and not meeting the minimum attendees, we will persevere to offer the fly tying class in Concord.  Chris has taught 7 classes starting his work in Laconia and moving to Concord.
