Stream

Stream fishing is a very special experience.  Since stream can be crossed fairly easily, exploring a stream is often as much fun as fishing itself.  One must protect themselves against Ticks though as they are often prevalent near New England streams which harbor lots of rocks and high grass on the banks.   Stream fisherman must also stay hydrated as often 2-3 mile hikes along the stream are not uncommon.

These fragile fisheries are very susceptible to fishing pressure, flow variations, and temperature.   For this reason, stream locations are often guarded by their patrons as they know just how fragile the fishery is.

It is in streams and small tributaries whew we have witnessed native brook trout reproduction.  Specifically, the brook is not designated nor managed for cold water species.  An 8 inch brook trout is a real special fish in this type of ecosystem.
